During the pandemic, the members of FOP Lodge 30 have endured mental and physical hardships. The members of Lodge 30 have worked since the inception of the pandemic without getting a break, a staggered schedule or paid time off, all while keeping the public safe. To lighten the load and to keep spirits up, Lt. Johnny Santiago, the Watch Commander for Platoon 1, has put forth over $1000 towards lunches for the officers on Platoon 1. At least once a month since March, Lt. Santiago would organize a lunch order from a local restaurant of our choosing and would pay the bill. To show our appreciation towards Lt. Santiago, the union presented him with this award.
Thank you Lieutenant Santiago for all that you do!
There are people who walk up to officers to thank them for their service and recognize the sacrifices they make as they put their lives on the line for the people of our community every day. We are grateful for all you do.
We live in a world where everything has a price, but hardly anything has value and the few things that have value, very little know how to appreciate. Appreciation is a free gift. It costs nothing. Thank you, LT. Santiago, for appreciating those who, like yourself, make the sacrifice every day to keep everyone safe.
Perfect example of what mentoring, being a good role model, and appreciating those who serve our community is all about!
